What's My Function? engages students with a game that makes learning about organelles and their functions fun and collaborative.
This game is an alternative to worksheets and flashcards for students who are memorizing the organelles and their functions as expected in the 7th grade standard, 7.12D. This standard has been assessed on STAAR and is also foundational for several Biology standards including B.4B (readiness) and B.6C (supporting).
How to play: In groups of 3 to 4, students will read clues about organelle functions. They will then identify the organelle that has that particular function. While this game is designed to be played competitively, it can also be played collaboratively if that fits the needs of your classroom better.
