All local education agencies receiving funding through the American Recovery and
Relief Act (ARRA) or Texas Support for Homeless Education Program (TEXSHEP) must
collect certain categories of demographic and academic information from their
students. Region XIII has developed a new product which assists school districts
struggling with data management difficulties, our Homeless Data Online Collection
System (HDOCS).
HDOCS allows student‐level data entry on multiple areas of information, including
designators requested by the latest Student Residency Questionnaire (SRQ). Online
management allows any user with internet access to input data.
Designed for use by both professional homeless liaisons and general school district or
charter school personnel, HDOCS requires no special training. Authorized users can
generate, view, delete, and download Excel files of aggregated data, including the No
Child Left Behind required information.
